More light than the florescent tubes, by far, on just the warm white strip. Then, when the switch is set for all four strips, it is like sunlight pouring in. The included rocker switch replaces the fixture on/off switch. Only the warm white lead was labeled. The red lead is power to the switch, the black lead connects to the bright LED strips. Although self adhering in theory, the strips do not stick as well to the fixture as they should. I had to use clear packing tape to keep them in place. Had I known how the kit switch worked, and because my fixture had a wall mounted on/off switch, I would have connected both the warm white strips to the power feed to the switch, and then just the bright white strips to the SPST switch on the fixture. That way, the warm white strips will always come on with the wall switch, and the bright white strips would only come on with the fixture switch in the on position. Overall, a great value when pricing the kit items separately!
